Languages evolve over time. For example, Modern English is dramatically different from what was spoken in Shakespeare’s time.
So, it’s necessary to periodically go back to the original Greek texts to compose a more understandable translation. This is one reason why we have different versions of the Bible today.
Secondly, the Bible is translated into different languages. In October 2011, the United Bible Societies said there were 469 languages with a complete Bible and 2,527 with at least a portion of the Bible translated.
And finally, there is a third reason for different types of Bible translations.
