Dr. Francis Collins, noted for his leadership of the Human Genome Project, was nominated by Barack Obama to serve as the Director for the National Institutes of Health where he still serves (at the time of this writing) under the Trump administration. Dr. Collins considered himself an atheist until a conversation with one of his patients led him to question his religious views. He began to read apologetic material (such that you are reading right now), including Mere Christianity by C.S. Lewis (a book we recommend on our resource list). He went on to become a Christian after a “leap of faith” when he saw a frozen waterfall during a hike on a fall afternoon. Collins went on to write the book The Language of God: A Scientist Presents Evidence for Belief.
