Theistic Evolution is the theory that God’s sovereignty and creative power were exercised through the process of evolution. There are variations of Theistic Evolution, but it basically holds that God put in place natural laws and other required elements that enabled evolution to gradually produce complex life forms (including man) according to His plan.
