The Quran (609-632 AD) is the holy book of Islam. It teaches that Jesus was a great prophet and it attributes many miracles to him. It affirms his virgin birth like the Bible does. The Quran holds Prophet Jesus in special regard among the prophets.
Similarly to Christianity, Islam teaches that Jesus’ enemies plotted to crucify him. However, Islam does not teach that Jesus rose from the dead. Rather, the Quran states that Jesus’ likeness “was put on another man" who was crucified in his place. Jesus was then raised to Heaven by God.
