Rabbi Harold Kushner is a popular author who echoes the thoughts of many modern Americans. The suffering in his life led Kushner to believe that an all-powerful and good God can’t exist. But Kushner still doesn’t want to deny God’s existence or say that God is evil, so he concludes that God isn’t all-powerful. He argues that God can stop some suffering and evil, but not all of it.
Kushner believes he must alter the nature of the God described in the Bible in order to avoid logical self-contradiction. But is this true?
