Jesus understands all of the suffering we experience today because He experienced it too. Jesus’ suffering wasn’t limited to His crucifixion. Louis Markos writes, “All the pains and the indignities, the loneliness and the frustration, the fevers and fatigues...he experienced them all—and not on his own terms but on the cruel, inflexible terms of our fallen world.” Jesus led a real human life, full of pain and suffering, for 33 years. There is no part of our experience to which He can’t relate.
