For those who trust in Jesus, the Bible says that God works everything for our good. This means that none of our suffering will ultimately be in vain. Furthermore, when we suffer, we follow Christ’s example and become more like Him by sharing in His suffering. From the Christian perspective, the suffering we experience in our earthly lives is the equivalent of birth pains. The birthing process is violent and painful, but it’s only the beginning. After this life, we’ll live in joy and peace for eternity.
