Morality and Absolute Truth

Morality Relativism Truth

Many people recognize the absolute nature of truth, but are troubled by the idea of moral absolutes. Truth in morality is often considered a matter of taste or opinion, similar to deciding which is the best ice cream flavor. Statements that reflect this viewpoint include:

  • There are no moral absolutes.
  • Morals are culturally dependent. We should not impose our morals on other cultures.
  • What is right for you may not be right for me.
