Section 1/7: Truth Section Summary

What about Tolerance?

Tolerance Truth

While everyone is entitled to have their own opinions—and to receive courtesy and respect—we can be tolerant of others’ opinions but also acknowledge the truth. Opinions are personal and subjective and can differ between people. I may like strawberry ice cream and you like chocolate.

But what if you say 2 + 2 = 7?  This is a truth claim - it's different than arguing which ice cream tastes best.  It is not narrow-minded to assert that 2 + 2 = 4. Saying all answers that are not 4 are wrong isn’t judgmental. Truth is exclusive. There is only one correct answer to the equation that corresponds to reality. Being tolerant shouldn't mean ignoring the nature of reality.
