Some people reject the Bible because it advocates positions they believe are false or unloving. One problem with judging the Bible by this standard is that cultural norms change over time. Ideas and activities considered acceptable 100 years ago are rejected today. Likewise, 100 years from now, some beliefs that we hold to be true today will be considered wrong.
Therefore, we can’t judge any book or practice that was written thousands of years ago by cultural standards that change continuously over time.
