While it was popular among skeptics and atheists in the 19th century to view Jesus as just a myth, today this view is held only by the uninformed and those (individuals and systems) who deliberately want to suppress the truth.
Very few serious historians today (including atheists) question that there was a man named Jesus who lived in 1st century Israel, taught a path of service and sacrificial love, was put to death through crucifixion by the Romans, and was believed by his followers to be resurrected from the dead.
